Score: 0It was my 7th birthday when I received my very first game console; a Nintendo 64 that included none other than my very first Nintendo game; Banjo Kazooie. I'll never forget all the Saturday mornings I spent playing that game with my older sister. We used to take turns trying to beat certain levels. My sister would agree that those mornings we spent together were probably the greatest times of our childhood. You can only imagine our delight when Banjo Tooie was released; we got to relive all those wonderful times together all over again; swimming Atlantis as a Submarine or stomping around the Dinosaur level as a giant T Rex, we had an absolute blast. Years have passed and my sister is now a mother. However, I have spent years eagerly awaiting a new Banjo Kazooie game so that, just maybe, my sister and I could relieve our childhood once more. And then, finally, it came: Nuts and Bolts. Although taken aback at first by its unusual title and even stranger description, we thought it best to give it a chance; after all it WAS Banjo Kazooie... Or so we thought... As my sister simply put it, it just "wasn't the same." We were easily frustrated by the gameplay's mechanics and quickly grew bored of its repetitive nature. This wasn't Banjo Kazooie at all; not the Banjo Kazooie I grew to love as a child. Where's the exciting character transformation? Or strategic planning to obtain those hard to reach Jiggys? Or even the opportunity to learn moves along the way? Those little things are what made Banjo Kazooie so special in the first place. Overall, I was unimpressed by Nuts and Bolts. The implementation of vehicle customization as a main gameplay component was disappointing to say the least. Ever since I returned it to Gamestop, I have been desperately hoping that Rare will come to their senses and go back to the drawing board. Rare...give us a new BK game that contains its original charm and excitement!

Reminds me of Banjo Pilot. Fun, but altogether like having your Steak touch your Ice Cream. They are both great, but don't belong together.

(They fixed this) But most of all I felt like it had nothing to do with the original. I loved banjo kazooie it was my childhood. The best level in the game was probably the museum level. Those were two of my most favorite video games to this day. I bought them on my Xbox marketplace just so I could replay them. I have always hoped they'd come out with more like the first two banjos, and was highly disappointed when I played the crappy nuts and bolts. Nobody wants to play a game because of how good the graphics are and what not. We want the old banjo game concept back. Score: 4Both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie are, to this day, easily some of the most impressive platform-adventure games ever made, both in graphics/artistic dirrection, in physics/game mechanics, in strategy/puzzle component; games that while exposed to as a kid egnited my imagination. The Nuts and Bolts game diverges greatly/ and arguably fails to do the series justice. My hope- Banjo Threeie for new nintendo system in 2012. Starts of in banjos same house.
